Merchant Center + Shopify

Google Merchant Center suspended for misrepresentation?

A misrepresentation suspension stops your Shopping ads and free product listings, and Google rarely says which page caused it. I check your Shopify store against Google’s misrepresentation policy, fix what’s missing in your site, policies and Merchant Center settings, and then you request one clean review.

  • Every page Google checks reviewed against the policy, line by line
  • Shipping, returns and contact details made consistent across your site and Merchant Center
  • Fixes done before the review request, so you don’t burn it on a store that still fails

20 minutes. Bring the suspension email and your store URL.

What Google looks for

Common causes of misrepresentation on Shopify stores

Google’s misrepresentation policy is about whether shoppers can trust who you are and what they’re buying. On Shopify stores, the problems I see most often are:

  • Thin business identity. No physical address, no phone or email, or contact details that don’t match the business behind the store.
  • Return and refund terms that are missing or hard to find. Shopify’s policy templates left half-edited, or terms that differ between the footer, the checkout and Merchant Center.
  • Hidden shipping costs or delivery times. Costs that only appear at checkout, or delivery times on the site that don’t match your Merchant Center shipping settings.
  • Prices or stock that don’t match. Product data in Merchant Center that disagrees with the product page, often after a sale ends or a variant sells out.
  • Claims Google treats as unreliable. Health, weight-loss or “guaranteed result” language, which hits supplement and wellness stores hardest.
  • Template leftovers. Placeholder text, dead links, empty pages or copied product descriptions that make a store look unfinished.

How it works

Fix first, then request one review

  1. Review. I go through your store the way Google’s reviewers do: homepage, contact, about, policies, checkout, and a sample of product pages and feed items.
  2. Fix list. Every gap, where it is, and the exact change. Policy wording, page copy and Merchant Center settings.
  3. Fixes made. I make the changes in Shopify and Merchant Center, or hand the list to your team.
  4. Review request. Once everything is fixed, you request the review. Google says account reviews typically take up to 7 business days.

One honest note: Google makes the final call, and nobody can guarantee reinstatement. What I can do is make sure the store you send for review has no gaps left to find.

FAQs

Questions about Merchant Center suspensions

Why won’t Google tell me what’s wrong?

Misrepresentation notices are deliberately general. Google points to the policy, not the page. That’s why the fix starts with reviewing the whole store against the policy instead of guessing at one issue.

Should I request a review right away?

Not until the store is fixed. If you got a warning, Google usually gives you 7 or 28 days to fix the issue first. Fix everything you can find, then request the review.

How long does a review take?

Google says account reviews typically take up to 7 business days. Products that are approved can start showing again soon after.

Can you guarantee my account comes back?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. Google makes the decision. I make sure the store you send for review has nothing left for the reviewer to find.
