Fixed-price projects + monthly retainers
Shopify SEO Services, With the Prices on the Page
Shopify SEO services fix the problems Shopify themes and apps create by default: the same product at several URLs, filter and tag pages Google crawls instead of your products, review apps and themes fighting over your Product schema, and app scripts that slow every page. I do that work myself, for Shopify and Shopify Plus brands doing roughly $1M to $10M a year.
Three ways to start, all priced up front:
- Shopify SEO Audit: $1,500. A ranked fix list in 10 business days.
- Shopify SEO Fix Sprint: $2,500. The fixes, built in your theme, in two weeks.
- Monthly retainer: from $1,500/month. Ongoing technical, content and AI search work.
The audit fee is credited in full if you book the Fix Sprint or a retainer within 30 days.

What Shopify gets wrong by default
Shopify handles hosting, SSL, sitemaps and checkout. It doesn’t stop your store from competing with itself. These are the issues I find on almost every store I audit, and they’re the core of every engagement.
Duplicate product URLs
Most themes link to products through /collections/name/products/item, so one product lives at several URLs. Google picks a canonical, but it still spends crawl budget on every copy. One line in the theme fixes the internal links.
Tag, filter and variant pages in the index
Collection filters and product tags generate thousands of thin URLs. Some deserve to rank. Most should be noindexed or kept out of the crawl with robots.txt.liquid.
Duplicate and conflicting Product schema
Your theme outputs Product markup. So does Judge.me, Yotpo, Okendo, Loox or Stamped. Google sees two products with different prices and two rating counts, and your review stars disappear. My free Schema Conflict Checker finds this in about 10 seconds.
Collections competing for the same keyword
“Women’s running shoes,” “Running shoes for women” and a “Sale: running” collection all target one term, and none of them wins. Merging and redirecting usually moves more revenue than writing new content.
App bloat and slow templates
Every app you’ve ever installed can leave scripts behind. On product pages, that’s the difference between passing and failing Core Web Vitals.
Invisible in AI answers
ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews now answer “what’s the best [product]” before anyone reaches your store. Clean schema, clear product facts and citable content decide whether you’re named.
Pricing
Three ways to work together
Shopify SEO Audit: $1,500 fixed
Best for: stores that want to know exactly what’s wrong before spending more.
- Crawl and indexation: collection-path URLs, tag and filter pages, variant parameters
- Product and review schema across the catalog
- Collection architecture and cannibalization
- Templates and on-page: H1s, titles, internal links
- Speed and app bloat on your real templates
- Shopify Markets and hreflang, if you sell internationally
- An AI search check on your top 5 buyer questions
- A GA4 revenue baseline, so every fix ties to a number
You get: a ranked fix list ordered by expected revenue, developer notes naming the theme files to change, a 0 to 100 Shopify SEO Score, the raw URL data, and a 30-minute walkthrough. Delivered in 10 business days.
Shopify SEO Fix Sprint: $2,500 fixed
Best for: stores that know what’s broken and want it fixed without hiring a developer.
- One clean Product block per product page, with duplicates from your theme and apps removed
- Organization and Breadcrumb schema set up once, site-wide
- Up to 25 duplicate or thin collections merged, redirected or noindexed
- Collection and product cannibalization resolved for your top 10 terms
- Correct H1s, title and meta patterns, and canonical and indexing rules
Everything is built in a duplicate of your live theme, and nothing goes live until you approve it. Ten business days, with a recorded walkthrough and a change log your developer can keep.
Monthly retainer: from $1,500/month
Best for: brands with traffic that want technical SEO, content and AI visibility handled every month.

How an engagement runs
- Free check (10 minutes). Run the Schema Conflict Checker or request the free revenue audit. You’ll see whether there’s a problem worth paying to fix.
- Access (day 1). Collaborator access to Shopify, plus read access to Search Console and GA4. I send the exact steps.
- Diagnose (days 1 to 10). The audit, or a confirmed fix list if you start with the Sprint. It’s read-only, so nothing changes on your store.
- Approve. You see every proposed change and its expected impact before any work starts.
- Build in a duplicate theme. Fixes are made on a copy of your live theme and published only after you sign off.
- Measure. Rich results and Search Console errors usually update within 2 to 4 weeks of Google recrawling. Revenue is tracked in GA4, not in a rank tracker.
What you’ll hear from me, and when
- Weekly during a Fix Sprint: a short written update on what shipped.
- Monthly on a retainer: Search Console and GA4 performance, AI citation tracking on your priority queries, and next month’s plan.
- Every change goes in a change log, so your developer or next agency knows exactly what was done.
No 40-slide decks. Every report answers one question: did organic revenue go up, and why?
Shopify SEO agency or specialist?
Most Shopify SEO agencies start at $4,000 a month, and audits commonly run $3,000 to $5,000. Part of that pays for account managers, sales and the junior staff who do the hands-on work.
I’m one senior specialist with 7+ years in ecommerce SEO. You work with me directly, prices are fixed and published, and I build my own tooling for the data-heavy parts. That’s why the audit is $1,500.
An agency makes more sense if you need paid media, design and SEO from one vendor, or 40+ hours of content a month. If you need the technical layer fixed properly, a specialist is usually faster and cheaper.
Who this is for
A good fit:
- Shopify or Shopify Plus stores doing roughly $1M to $10M a year
- At least 500 organic visits a month, so fixes show up in revenue
- Rankings that held while revenue didn’t, or review stars that vanished
- An in-house developer or agency that needs a clear fix list
Not a fit yet:
- Brand-new stores with no organic traffic. Start with the free Shopify SEO Checklist instead.
- Stores that need PPC, email or paid social. I only do organic search and AI visibility.
Free tools that do part of the job
Not ready to pay? These run the same checks I use in client work:
- Shopify Schema Conflict Checker: finds duplicate Product markup and conflicting ratings, and names the app causing it
- Shopify Schema Kit ($39): copy-paste Liquid snippets plus install guides for five review apps
- AI Citation Checker: see whether AI search names you or a competitor
- All free SEO tools
Frequently asked questions
How much do Shopify SEO services cost?
My prices are published: $1,500 for an audit, $2,500 for a two-week Fix Sprint, and $1,500 to $6,500 a month for a retainer. Agencies commonly charge $3,000 to $5,000 for an audit and $4,000 or more a month for a retainer.
How long does Shopify SEO take to work?
Schema and Search Console errors usually clear within 2 to 4 weeks of Google recrawling the fixed pages. Ranking gains from collection cleanup and new content take 3 to 6 months, depending on your competition.
Do I need the audit before the Fix Sprint?
No. Most stores can book the Sprint directly, and the fix list is confirmed with you before work starts. If you buy the audit first, its $1,500 is credited toward the Sprint or a retainer booked within 30 days.
Will you change my theme or break my apps?
Every change is built in a duplicate theme and published only after you approve it. Review and subscription apps keep working. Only their duplicate schema output is switched off.
Do you work with Shopify Plus?
Yes. Plus stores get the same work, plus Shopify Markets, expansion stores and checkout where they affect SEO.
What do I need to give you?
Shopify collaborator access, plus read access to Search Console and GA4. I send step-by-step instructions on day 1.
Do you do link building?
On the Growth Engine and AI Search Domination retainers, yes. The audit and Fix Sprint cover technical and on-site work only.
Is Shopify bad for SEO?
No. Shopify’s foundations are solid. The problems come from themes, apps and collection setups that were never planned for search, and nearly all of them can be fixed without leaving Shopify.
